
Muuch design la is a program with 5 staff members focused on organizing and facilitating creative processes by learning with games designed with communities to preserve traditional knowledge. It has been implemented in the Yucatan peninsula, México as well as the Andeas and Amazon region, Ecuador.

Vision | To revitalize the traditional life skills of indigenous communities for cultural resilience, environmental conservation, and to address local needs.
Mission Statement | To promote intergenerational dialogue through ethnographic research and participatory design workshops that can be replicated by an indigenous community to register and transmit their traditional life skills.
- Developed creative process based on research in indigenous communities combining participatory design, popular education, and action research
- Led cohorts of 20-30 young adults on research projects in local and indigenous culture, such as uses of local plants, traditional handicrafts, and community food traditions
- Conducted visual exploration and problem-solving to explore research topics over ten weekly sessions and produced final products including board games, children’s books, art exhibits, performances, video and image archives, and web sites
- Mentored 100+ participants in Ecuador and Mexico with 40 hours training per participant
- Wrote paper on visual methodologies for participatory social research and presented paper at three international conferences in Colombia, Ecuador, and Canada
